The SaaS launch formula

The formula I’ve used to launch SaaS apps

The formula I’ve followed for every SaaS I’ve launched

I’ve launched 3 SaaS over the last few months and I’ve followed the EXACT same formula every time, which I learned through Alex Heiden, who founded and sold both Closify and Trackify.

Here’s the framework I learned and applied to my own SaaS launches:

  1. Pick a niche

You’re gonna need to pick a niche for your SaaS to start with. Every “big” idea that applies to a massive audience has already been conquered by a massive company with big funding. You’re gonna make your money niching down and dominating that area. I’d recommend something you have experience with. For example, I’m creating a baseball SaaS because I play baseball. If you’ve done social media management, make an SMM SaaS. If you’ve done cold email, make a cold email software etc.

  1. Talk to your ideal customer and Find out what their pain points are

Reach out to people who work in the niche you’re creating a SaaS for and find out what they struggle with or what takes a lot of time. Find the most common pain point or pain points and build your software around that.

  1. Build a demo

when you know what you’re building, build a demo version asap. Why? So you can market early while developing. I did this with a SaaS called ClassroomAI and built a waitlist of 5,000 before I even launched the software. That’s how powerful early marketing is. Just make tiktoks/reels/shorts with it and funnel from there.
